The crispy skin, the soft and satisfying inside of a baked potato. You don’t want to sacrifice that deliciousness when you reheat.
Nothing could be worse than your baked potato falling apart, dry and crumbly. There is a way to use your microwave effectively to reheat yielding great results.
Reheating your baked potato in the microwave with a damp paper towel for just one or two minutes can bring your perfect baked potato back to life.
You take your leftover potato out of the fridge. Now what?
Step 1: Put your cold potato on a microwave safe dish.
Step 2: Cut your potato in half.
Step 3: Lay a damp paper towel over top of your potato.
Step 4: Use a towel or oven mitt to safely take your potato out of the microwave.
Step 5: While your potato is piping hot why not add some cheese? Or some sour cream, or greek yogurt.
Using the Oven Instead
The microwave is the quickest option to get the job done. But you can also use your oven.
The oven will arguably give you the best potato: no drying out! Keep reading to find out how to use your oven to reheat your baked potato.

The oven method takes a bit longer, it’s true. But if you have the extra minutes you could get the best results.
Another Option? Use the stovetop.
It’s far from microwaving, but using olive oil and a fry pan can make for a delicious baked potato as well.
Stovetop Method
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium low heat.
Step 2: Cut potato in half and place cut-side down onto the pan.
Step 3: Lower the heat, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
