Lasagna is one of those rare foods that tastes better reheated the next day. The juices of the sauce meld with the lasagna noodles, and the ricotta cheese gets well mixed into the lasagna. If you cook enough lasagna, you can even have it three days in a row! It is better than cooking and better tasting than any frozen food you can buy.

The method for reheating lasagna depends on how much you want to reheat. You can reheat up to two portions in your toaster oven. If you are feeding a whole family, it is best to heat the lasagna in the conventional oven.  The more lasagna there is, the longer you will have to cook it.

  1. Maintain moisture by cooking the lasagna enclosed in aluminum foil.
  2. If you have leftover sauce, add some to the top of the lasagna to add moisture.
  3. If you have leftover mozzarella cheese, mix some fresh cheese in the lasagna to get the string cheese that wraps around your fork.
  4. Do not overcook your leftover lasagna or it will get dry.
  5. If your lasagna is already dry, and you don’t have any leftover sauce, sprinkle some water over it before wrapping it in the aluminum foil.

  1. Wrap the lasagna in aluminum foil.
  2. Moisten the noodles with fresh sauce or a sprinkle of water.
  3. Put the aluminum foil with the lasagna on the toaster oven baking tray.
  4. Turn the selector of the toaster oven to bake.
  5. Adjust the temperature to 425 degrees.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. The lasagna is done when steam comes out of the top of the aluminum foil.
  8. Be careful when removing the lasagna from the aluminum foil because you might burn yourself.

How to Reheat Lasagna in the Conventional Oven.

If you are cooking two pieces of lasagna or less, follow the directions above. However, since you are using a large oven, you will need to preheat the oven before putting the lasagna in.  You can cook the lasagna for less time, probably 8-13 minutes.

To Cook a Hefty Amount of Lasagna in the Conventional Oven, Follow These Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425
  2. If you left your lasagna in the pan, simply reheat the whole pan with the lasagna.
  3. If you didn’t leave the lasagna in the original pan, put it directly on top of a cookie sheet.
  4. Moisten the noodles with fresh sauce or a sprinkle of water.
  5. Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil.
  6. Put the lasagna in the oven.
  7. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, depending on how much lasagna you are reheating.
  8. When steam rises from the aluminum foil, the lasagna is ready.
